Field Bindweed
(Convolvulus arvensis)

This plant spreads along the ground or attaches itself and climbs upon other plants or objects, forming a dense tangled mass.

The blossoms are quite pretty -- white or pale pink, and over an inch across.

Bindweed in an urban lawn

The plant often becomes a nuisance in lawns, and is very difficult to eradicate because of its deep root system.

It grows in many different habitats, from urban parks and yards, to farm pastures, to high mountain meadows.

It is also commonly known as "wild morningglory".
